Entrants must have an official connection
with MSU, which we define as MSU student, faculty, staff, retiree, alum
and/or Alumni Association member. Entries from individuals involved
in contest planning or judging, and Entries from professional photographers,
are not eligible to win, place, or receive major prizes, although
they may earn a "honorable mention". Entries must be the original work
of the entrant, and must be photographs taken outside the United States.
(The exception to this rule would be photographs taken by international
students or alumni where personally meaningful intercultural interaction
within the U.S. is depicted.) Although all styles of photography may be
submitted, preference will be given to entries which artistically depict
some connection between MSU's mission and the rest of the world, and which
are of broad interest to a diverse viewing audience.
A maximum of three photographs per entrant may be entered.
Entrants may submit photos in only one of the three entry categories:
MSU Student
MSU Faculty / Staff (including retirees)
MSU Alum and/or Alumni Association Member.
1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place, and an indeterminate number of "honorable
mention" awards will be made in each of those three categories. One award
maximum per entrant.
Entries must be in either slide format or print format. (No digital or
video entries.)
Deadline for entries: Friday, October 6, 2000 at 5:00 P.M. EDT.
Judging will be completed and winners notified ASAP thereafter.
