2009 Conference Highlights:

  • 300 total attendees (keynote presentation & 12 panels during the 2 ½ day conference);
  • Presenters/participants (51 students, 21 faculty);
  • Students from 3 institutions, 10 colleges and 22 different majors presented their research;
  • More than 120 people attended the Keynote Address by Ambassador Addor-Neto, Secretary for Multidimensional Security, Organization of American States (OAS).

Organization of American States


Ambassador Addor-Neto is the current Secretary for Multidimensional Security at the Organization of American States. During his diplomatic career service, Addor-Neto was Consul General of Brazil in Chicago from (1999-2005); Ambassador to Angola (1995-1999); Minister Counselor at the Embassy in Moscow (1993-1995); and worked in the Ministry of External Relations in Brasilia on consular, regional economic and political issues, as well as on diplomatic planning (1989-93).
