Friendship Family Program
FAMILY
We appreciate your decision to host an international student! This is the start of what could be a lifelong relationship where you and your student will learn from each other and grow together. The rewards are great- from expanding each other’s understanding of the world to discovering a new and valuable friend.
All new families and students are asked to attend an orientation session. This usually takes place on a Sunday afternoon from approximately 3:00 to 4:30 pm at the International Center on the MSU Campus. After a short 45 minute session on Cross-Cultural Differences and Perceptions, you can meet and talk with each other while enjoying light refreshments.
After you fill out the family volunteer application form, we will contact you with details.
Hosting is a small but important way of contributing to world peace, tolerance and understanding – it happens one relationship at a time.

Those interested in becoming a Friendship Family, please view the Family Guidelines.
Families can apply by filling out a Family Application.
