Our publications are designed to inform stakeholders of MSU's international reach through academic, research and economic development initiatives.
Annual Magazine
International Studies and Programs publishes an annual magazine to report on the research, teaching and outreach efforts of MSU's faculty and staff around the globe. International program sponsors, partners and alumni (including internationals or expatriates) interested in receiving a copy of the magazine may join our mailing list simply by emailing our communications department with their contact information. The China Papers (PDF)
The Office of International Studies and Programs at Michigan State University established the Office of China Programs in July 2005 to help implement President Lou Anna K. Simon’s “China Initiative,” part of the university’s long-term strategic plan to become the nation’s premier land-grant university for the 21st century. Through academic, research and economic development initiatives and global, national and local strategic alliances, the office aids the university in expanding its presence and outreach in China.
Currently, the office focuses on the following functions: developing joint education programs, developing joint research programs, facilitating technology transfer/consulting services, assisting the Office of Admissions
in recruiting undergraduate students from China and working with the State of Michigan’s China Office to promote economic development
for the state.
The Brazil Overview (PDF)
With multi-generational, collaborative research experience and unique
global connections, Michigan State University is strategically placed
to have a positive impact in Brazil and beyond. With more than 100
faculty members doing research relating to Brazil and the Center for
Latin American and Caribbean Studies hosting visiting professionals
and scholars on campus, MSU is supporting Brazilian’s in their
efforts to preserve history and culture, compete in the global
markets and protect rare ecosystems.
The South Asia Overview (PDF)
With hundreds of faculty engaged in research and current activities in every country, Michigan State University is the most uniquely placed institution of higher education to engage in research collaborations in South Asia. Through joint research, faculty exchange and strategic partnerships, MSU supports faculty-led efforts to compete in the global market while preserving culture and improving quality of life.
