International Parent Programs

The Office of International Advancement partners with the Office of International Students & Scholars to engage international parents and welcome them to the Spartan family.


Deans' Welcome Reception

The Deans' Welcome Reception gives international parents and family members a unique and memorable experience during their visit to Michigan State University. Attended by MSU leadership, including deans and faculty members of MSU's colleges, the reception gives international parents the opportunity to meet with leadership from across the MSU community.

International Parent Orientation Program

Organized by the Office for International Students and Scholars, the International Parent Orientation Program provides information and resources for parents of new students. Topics include housing and dining, academic advising and course selection, healthcare and health insurance, tuition and billing, career services and learning through experience, and the global Spartan network.


Pre‒Departure Programs in China

MSU's Pre‒Departure Program is organized by the Office for International Students and Scholars, and provides newly admitted international students and parents from China with resources before arriving on campus. The Office for International Advancement partners with OISS to create opportunities for students and parents to meet and network with alumni.
