During my time abroad, I immersed myself in a new culture and environment, both inside and outside the classroom. The knowledge I gained has profoundly shaped my perspectives and enriched my understanding in ways I never imagined possible. I am eager to apply these insights to my professional endeavors and future education.

Studying abroad has shaped my personal life in many ways as well. This experience not only enriched my understanding of various subjects but also fostered personal growth. Adapting to a different cultural context enhanced my resilience, independence, and problem-solving skills. The relationships I formed with peers from diverse backgrounds have provided me with lasting personal and professional connections.

Studying abroad in Rome significantly improved my ability to communicate in a non-English speaking environment by providing practical language use in daily interactions, enhancing my academic vocabulary, immersing me in cultural nuances, and fostering relationships with locals, which collectively boosted my confidence and communication skills in Italian.

Studying in Rome taught me the importance of community, a balanced lifestyle, and an appreciation for history, art, and culinary traditions. I Group of students posing in front of the Trevi Fountain in Romelearned the value of craftsmanship and cultural rituals, gaining a deeper understanding of global perspectives that will influence my personal and professional life.

Returning to Michigan State University for my senior year will be bittersweet, but I am excited to bring back what I've learned abroad and apply it in my final year. Thank you, MSUFCU Endowment, for the generous Study Abroad Scholarship. Your support allowed me to study at the American University of Rome, enriching my education and cultural understanding. This experience has profoundly shaped my personal and professional growth, and I am deeply grateful for this opportunity. Go Green!
